L is for Luna Lovegood

My A to Z Blogging theme in April will be about my fave book characters.

I scheduled my posts ahead of time, but this is the second one that didn't post at the time I'd set up... why? Because I had p.m. instead of a.m. Doh! So I changed it to a.m. and now need to find time to check my other posts for times!

Luna Lovegood is a character in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter books.

A description of Luna when Harry first encounters her.
"She had straggly, waist-length, dirty blonde hair, very pale eyebrows, and protuberant eyes that gave her a permanently surprised look. Harry knew at once why Neville had chosen to pass this compartment by. The girl gave off an aura of distinct dottiness. Perhaps it was the fact that she had stuck her wand behind her left ear for safekeeping, or that she had chosen to wear a necklace of Butterbeer caps, or that she was reading a magazine upside down." (excerpt from HP and The Order of the Phoenix)

She's quirky, positive, insightful, and just what Harry needed to have on his side.

  6. It's interesting how many people identified with Luna. I think we all have an eccentric side we suppress because it's not acceptable to show it.

  7. I love Luna, but I must admit that the movie version seems prettier to me than the book version was meant to be. Still, the movie version was great too :)

  10. I really liked the actress who played Luna in the movies. She had the right mix of spacey, weird, but determined.
