IWSG post #12 and EYM

I'm feeling "eh" lately. I think it's because I have so much going on. Between my fam, the boys ballgames, writing, work, revising and editing, trying to maintain the house, critting, and blogging, I don't know which end is up sometimes. But I LOVE all of those things. I just need a time-out.

The thing that comes to mind to try to help me get out of the "eh" ness.... Dory's mantra....

For Express Yourself Meme of the week, Dani and I would like to know...

What could you eat every day and not grow tired of it?

  • mushroom, tomato, and green pepper pizza
  • chips and salsa
  • popcorn
  • trail mix: banana chips, cashews, dried pineapples, raisins, and almonds
  • cereal: Fruity Pebbles
  • I do love chocolate, but not sure I'd actually want to eat it every single day.

How about you? What could you eat every day and not grow tired of it?

And don't forget to join the Heroes and Villains blogfest tomorrow - Thursday, June 6. Come share your favorite hero and villain. They can be from comics, TV shows, movies, books, or even real life. Your choice. The main thing? Have fun! CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP!!!

  1. You're right, our IWSG posts are very similar. Life, sheesh, it can be a pisser sometimes.

We also have pizza and chips/salsa similar as well and you almost had chocolate. I like trail mix but with out the dried fruit. I dislike dried fruit. And I heart me some Fruity Pebbles... that's about as close as I close to "dried fruit". lmao.

    Can't wait for H&V tomorrow!

    1. Gosh I should prob reread my comments before I post them... but I know you get what I mean.

  2. I've read a lot of posts lately about writers feeling "eh"-- me included. I don't know if it's the season or what. I think for me some of it is the change in routine with my kids home and my time being used differently. I'm trying to focus on feeding my creative heart a bit more during the change and not worry so much about writing production.

  3. I've been feeling like that too . . .I think that I agree with Julie on this one - I think the change, plus time and the need to feed creativity is all a part of it.

  4. When the weather turns warm, the fingers turn sweaty on the computer keys, which messes up the typing, which makes our teeth grit, which makes our eyes bug out and we go..."eh"...

    Heh heh.

But funny you should mention that about chocolate. That's what we grow plenty of over at Gum Drop Island!

"Just keep chewing, just keep chewing..."

  5. Combat fatigue sets in eventually in the midst of your dream. Just hang in there and know how you finish is more important than how you start. Interesting post, Roland

  6. There is nothing wrong with taking a timeout. Trust me; I get it. I have four very active kids, a house to maintain, freelance work, writing, CPing, blah, blah... I could go on and on, as I'm sure you could too. Last year was the first time in my three years of blogging that I took July and August off. I concentrated on family, life, and living. I read for pleasure. It was the best thing I'd done since starting to writing professionally. I'm doing it again this year, except I have to finish a manuscript to send off to beta's and work on another. But I'm going to pace myself.

PS: looking forward to tomorrows blogfest!

  7. Sometimes we need a time out to be able to carry on. A break can do wonders :)

  8. Sounds like a bit of down time might be needed. Even if it is just for one day. Give yourself permission to relax.

  9. "Just keep swimming" is excellent advice which, sometimes, is very hard to follow. Better to get back into the stream of things later than never, though. :-)

  10. Dory does have a great mantra. For nanowrimo last year a friend of mine use a picture of Dory and added "just keep writing" to it. Made for a great motivator image.

  11. Sometimes we just need to be okay with things.

  12. Nothing wrong with a little break, now and then.

Looking forward to the bloghop tomorrow :)

  13. I know I need breaks and I need them often! There's nothing wrong with taking a good, deep breath.

Just keep swimming! You'll make it :)

Oh, and what could I eat everyday? Cheese. That was easy!

  14. Yes! I love Dora! And if I had a nickel for every time I started chanting that little ditty to myself- especially when writing- I'd be a RICH woman!

Just keep writing! Just keep writing! Just keep writing, writing, writing...

  15. Agree with that food list, except for the trail mix. I never really liked that stuff.

Life sometimes does run crazy. It's like everything or nothing. Where is that in between?

  16. I'm going to have the Dory song in my head now when I'm struggling with juggling. Thanks!

  17. I'm with you about chocolate. I probably do eat it every day (only a tiny bit) but if I *had* to eat it every day, I think I would get tired of it!

  18. I think we all just need ten extra hours in our day!

Comments make me happy. So do photos of Adam Levine... <3
