N is for Noah Calhoun

I've had one of those days. You know. The one where no matter what you do, nothing goes the way you want it to. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad day. It’s simply a detour of sorts, and it’s why my post is later than I’d planned.
WAY later. In fact, it's almost time for the letter O.
But I still have a few minutes to introduce the letter N.

Noah Calhoun is a fictional character in Nicholas Sparks’ novel The Notebook. (Wow! Three N’s in that sentence right there!)

Mr. Sparks can write romance like it's noone's business, and The Notebook is one of my fav novels. Also, Noah's an amazing character and tops my list of literary characters that I love.

The reason it hurts so much to separate is because our souls are connected. Maybe they always have been and will be. Maybe we’ve lived a thousand lives before this one and in each of them we’ve found each other. And maybe each time, we’ve been forced apart for the same reasons. That means that this goodbye is both a  goodbye for the past ten thousand years and a prelude to what will come. --- a letter to Allie from Noah

*sigh* I can only hope to write romance as awesome as Sparks!

  4. I have a serious soft spot for Nicholas Sparks-a fellow NC writer. The Notebook and Noah are precious to me, though I have to be honest-the movie didn't do it for me. Plus some of his newer books have been dissapointing:(

But the notebook-I've read again and again and I cry each time. Such a beautiful love story!

  6. Sigh. I don't like Sparks in general, based on some of the things he's said, but I did enjoy The Notebook. Noah was delicious.

    1. Yeah, his "mouth" doesn't take away from his great writing, but I know what you mean. :)

  7. The Notebook is an amazing book - even more of a tear-jerker than the movie, if you can believe it! I like both. Jackie, I have included your blog on my list of "Other Great Blogs." Woo hoo!
