Express Yourself - goals, resolutions, yikes.
Express Yourself Meme has been on a little hiatus with the holidays and such, but we're back in full swing.
EYM is a weekly meme created by Dani and me... or is it I? We wanted to get to know our fellow bloggers better and meet some new ones along the way.
The question for this week... What's your 2013 resolutions? And if you don't make them, then tell us something you're looking forward to in the year ahead?
I've never made New Years resolutions. I DO think I need to make some sort of goals. This makes me nervous because it means I have to stick to it!!! Yikes. So I will write them here and keep myself accountable. I want to accomplish this all by May. I hope I can do it.
-Outline, outline, outline
-Plot, plot, plot
-Start on my new WIP
-Finish said WIP
-Pass it over to my critique partners
-Edit and revise
Something not writing related...
-Get family game night/movie night back on track. We used to do this every Friday, but once summer was over, it's been hit or miss. I'm determined to get this rolling again!
Do you have any resolutions or goals that you'd like to accomplish this year?

I think that is why I have yet to write down my goals for this year, I'm afraid of not being able to follow through with all of them once written down....uggg, I just need to get over it and write them down and get it over with, lol!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid of not following through, too, but I'm going to do my best to make it happen! :)
DeleteFamily game/movie nights are always fun! :D Good luck with meeting your goals this year!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kyra! Good luck with your goals, too!
DeleteI hope you meet your goals by May! If it was me, it would be an epic fail! Family game night is an awesome idea!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope so, too! Thanks!
DeleteI try to make goals without feeling a sense of failure if they don't get done completely as I anticipated. After all, life rarely cooperates fully with our good intentions. Having said that, I do have a few writing, health, and personal goals for the year I hope to be like the dotted lines in the center of the highway-- keep me from head-ons with apathy!
ReplyDeleteYou're so right... life rarely cooperates the way we want it to. Good luck with your goals for the year, Julie!
DeleteI wrote down my goals for this year, but tried to simplify and focus with only three. :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your goals, Nicole! Many blessings to you in the new year!
DeleteI miss family game night. I'll have to work on reinstating that in our house. My little ones love it. Of course, they are more into the computer and games now.
ReplyDeleteYeah, family time is so important and game night makes it fun!
Deletelove your writing goals, plotting is key for me!
ReplyDeleteand i love board games, but i settle for being a fan at the courts. we do rent movies and i enjoy recording oldies to rewatch with the kids (just watched dirty rotten scoundrels, hilarious!)
Thanks, Tara!
DeleteGood luck with your writing goals!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to start a game night here, too. I think the kids would really love it. :)
Thanks, Dana! I bet they would love it!
DeleteFamily nights are great, but difficult to keep up. We try to do a 'party night' every weekend, which entails either games or a movie with tons of popcorn, chips, pizza and such. The kids camp out in the living room. Makes a huge mess;)
ReplyDeleteHope you get yours going again!
We have living room camp outs every once in awhile, too! So fun!!!
Deletei really don't make any "official" resolutions-----your family night idea is a great one----anything that makes a warm family routine is great--we used to have movie nights too--the kids always loved it and would take turns picking the movie and the pizza :)
ReplyDeleteVery fun, Lynn!
DeleteI'm going to query my first novel this year. That's my main writing goal and as always, write write write.
ReplyDeleteYay! That's great!!!
DeleteMmm... I want to query, draft, rewrite, sing, read, blog and learn two languages. Oh and exercise.
ReplyDeleteGreat goals, Misha!
